Important Information About Upcoming Super Testing Days

Dear Parents/Guardians, and Cypress Bay students:

In order to minimize the disruption to the education of our student body, for the seventh year in a row, Cypress Bay is embarking in a Super Testing Schedule which will condense approximately thirty(30) school days of testing into six(6). During these days, we will test all FSA and EOC state examinations which include Language Arts (9th & 10th grade), Biology, Algebra I, Geometry, and History. The six Super Testing Days this year are:

Tuesday April 2nd – FSA Writing Language Arts (9th and 10th grade)
(1 morning session from 7:40 AM-11:40 AM)

Monday May 6 – EOC History and Biology
(1 morning session from 7:40 AM-11:40 AM)

Tuesday & Wednesday May 7 & 8 – FSA Reading Language Arts
(1 morning session each day from 7:40 AM-11:40 AM)

Thursday & Friday May 9 & 10 – EOC Algebra I and Geometry
(1 morning session each day from 7:40 AM-11:40 AM)

The above mentioned Super Testing days will not be typical school days. All six Super Testing days will only have a morning session which will run from 7:40 am to 11:40 am. Students not testing will have a choice to take selected AP or AICE practice exams or informational sessions. Students will register for available choices through their AP/AICE teachers.

During the week of May 6-10, some students may be scheduled for their actual AP and/or AICE exams as well as the state exams and could possibly be testing for a morning and an afternoon session.

Students will be informed prior to that week about these situations. Students should be at their morning bus stops as usual. Once testing ends at 11:40 AM, students will be transported back.

Approximate bus stop times by route numbers will be posted on our website. A sweeper bus will be available for students who need extended time.

We are excited about the opportunity to minimize the testing days and the disruptions to our students’ schedules so that they can concentrate on learning and/or testing in an uninterrupted environment. As always, we are here to serve you.
