WHAT:
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is proud to announce the inaugural Minecraft Education South Florida Showdown, a groundbreaking esports event showcasing the power of gaming as an educational tool.
The event is part of the District’s expansion of esports to ensure access to this growing and popular sport for students of all ages. As part of the showdown, student teams will compete against each other as they design and build unique creations within Minecraft based on specific criteria. Representing BCPS will be Silver Palms Elementary, Nova Middle School and Coral Springs High School.
Esports supports students' education by engaging them in exciting online gaming, developing teamwork and collaboration skills, increasing critical thinking, and promoting leadership abilities.
