Dillard 6-12 and Florida Blue Celebrate Newly Remodeled Workspace for Unique Program That Provides On-Site, Paid Internships for Students

WHAT:
Dillard 6-12 is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newly renovated on-campus office space that houses Florida Blue’s Partners in Education for Business Success (P.E.B.S.) program. Through P.E.B.S., Florida Blue offers a paid internship for 10th –12th grade students, with hands-on job experience in a real-world business environment right on the school campus.
As part of the renovations, the P.E.B.S. workspace now features new computers, refreshed signage and a fresh coat of paint, creating a more modern and professional learning environment.

WHY:
Through this unique program, students get a jumpstart on their futures by learning office concepts, claims processing and basic data entry, while also developing teamwork, job readiness and other essential workplace skills – all within the familiar setting of their school campus.
Students participating in P.E.B.S. are part-time Florida Blue employees earning a paycheck while they learn and gain work experience that can potentially lead to full-time positions after graduation.
