Free Summer Camps Highlight District’s Focus on Reimagining Middle Grades Learning

Hundreds of Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Students, Teachers and Staff
WHAT:
From building robots to musical performances, debate exhibitions and creative artwork, students are preparing to showcase the skills they learned during the District’s free Applied Learning Institute (ALIgn) Summer Camp.
The showcase events take place Thursday, July 25, 2019, and are the culminating activities from the two-week summer camps, which begin on Monday, July 15. In all, nearly 900 BCPS students entering grades six through nine in the 2019/20 school year are participating in the camps. Students are exploring programs in art, debate, music, and STEM+Computer Science (CS), and have opportunities to continue with these areas of interest through electives and courses in the upcoming school year.
