Recent decisions made by the School Board regarding options for the reopening of schools will be presented. Options take into consideration stakeholder feedback from more than 80,000 parents/guardians, teachers, staff and students who provided input on what the reopening of schools should look like, as well as research from the Aspen Institute, Chiefs for Change, the Council of the Great City Schools, Florida Association of District School Superintendents, Harvard University Public Education Leadership Project, McKinsey & Company, other school districts and more. All decisions will support the goals of the District’s 2024 Strategic Plan, which include high-quality instruction, safe and supportive environment, and effective communication.
