Watch Fort Lauderdale High School and Pompano Beach High School celebrate being named Top Schools of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America.

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) congratulates District magnet programs for earning national recognition from Magnet Schools of America (MSA), the national association for magnet and theme-based schools.

In total, 19 BCPS schools received awards, including two schools that also earned prestigious Top Schools of Excellence awards, the highest award level that can be achieved following a comprehensive application process. Fort Lauderdale High School earned the top honor for its Cambridge magnet program and Pompano Beach High School earned the recognition for its International Affairs with Information Technology magnet program. They are among 24 schools in the nation – including only nine schools in Florida – to be selected as Top Schools of Excellence.

BCPS schools also earned five Magnet Schools of Excellence awards and 14 Magnet Schools of Distinction awards.

Each year, MSA recognizes magnet schools and programs throughout the nation for their commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful diversity efforts, and parent and community involvement that enriches the magnet themes. Award-winning schools will be recognized during a special awards ceremony at the 40th Annual Magnet Schools of America Conference:

Congratulations to the following BCPS schools:
