BCPS Modifies Operations in Preparation for Hurricane Milton
Broward County Public Schools is working closely with Emergency Management officials to monitor the track of Hurricane Milton and its potential impact on Broward County.
Given the uncertainty of the storm, our District will make the following operational changes:
Tuesday, October 8: Schools and District offices are OPEN
- Schools and District offices will be open; however, all will close at 4 p.m.
- All after-school activities – including after school care, supper services, evening classes, events and meetings – are canceled.
- The School Board Workshop, at 9 a.m., and Special School Board Meeting, at 2 p.m., will take place as scheduled. View the agendas or livestream through this link: https://www.browardschools.com/Page/55263
Wednesday, October 9, and Thursday, October 10: Schools and District offices are CLOSED
- Schools and District offices will be closed.
- All programs and activities – before and after school care, field trips, evening classes, events and meetings – are canceled on both days.
- The Magnet Program Expo scheduled for Thursday evening at Nova Southeastern University will be rescheduled.
Friday, October 11: Schools and District offices expected to OPEN
- Schools and District offices plan to resume normal operations.
