Cloud 9 Resources - Building Kids of Character

New Info - January, 2021

The Cloud9World World Social Emotional Learning [SEL] program, which utilizes literacy to teach SEL skills, is currently available to our school, and has been implemented in all our classrooms. These skills incorporate five core competences, namely, Self-Management, Responsible Decision-Making, Relationship Skills, Social Awareness, and Self-Awareness…skills which harness the productive energies of our students, creating for them a pathway to good social and emotional health. This in turn helps them to function more efficiently, and effectively in school, and goes hand-in-hand, with making for more successful students academically.

As parents, you are your child’s first teacher, and most important role model. Teaching begins at home, and with the Cloud9World program, you have the opportunity to participate, underscore, and reinforce these important traits. There are several resources available to you, and easily accessible online. Log-on information and directions are included in this communication [see below], and we hope you will join in this fun learning process with your child. This school year, we are focused on the following ten character traits, and invite you to get involved with your child’s character building activities.

  • Integrity
  • Love
  • Respect
  • Compassion
  • Forgiveness
  • Perseverance
  • Acceptance
  • Equity
  • Justice
  • Honesty
