Northeast High School to Host a Group of Special Athletes to Participate in the Special Olympics

WHO:
Northeast High School Students, Teachers and Staff, Broward County Public Schools Administrators, Parents, Community Members, the City of Oakland Park Elected Officials and Special Olympics Florida Representatives
WHAT:
Northeast High School partners with Special Olympics Florida to host the Special Olympics games, welcoming student-athletes from 12 elementary, middle and high schools across the District for a morning of competition and teamwork. Northeast High student volunteers and athletes will help participants compete successfully in softball and baseball toss, and track and field events.

WHY:
The Special Olympics provides training and competitive sports for students with varying abilities. This event encourages youth participation, inclusion and leadership in schools and prepares students for participation in sports and extracurricular opportunities beyond their school day.
