WHAT:
Fort Lauderdale High School is hosting Make a Friend Be a Friend Empowerment Inclusion Walk. The event takes place along Fort Lauderdale's Riverwalk and provides a unique experience focused on building friendships throughout the community.

WHY:
The Fort Lauderdale High School Make a Friend Be a Friend Empowerment Inclusion Walk, provides an opportunity for students to interact and establish inclusive friendships, as well as bring awareness to the benefits of student inclusion programs. The three-kilometer route, begins at Esplanade Park and continues alongside Riverwalk, and includes a pep rally, interactive friendship building stations, a performance from Fort Lauderdale High School’s American Theatre Group and much more.
In addition, proceeds from the walk will go toward the South Florida Friends Care Foundation, a Fort Lauderdale High School student-led nonprofit, which provides financial assistance to students with disabilities for inclusion programs, social activities and resources to improve the quality of life and independence for disabled students. All Broward County Public Schools students and staff, including those with special needs are invited. To participate, the fee is $10. For more information, visit FLHS2021.com/walk
