October 2020 Newsletter

Greetings Parents Guardians and Community Members,

I am excited about the future that is being created at C. Robert Markham Elementary school. We encourage you to participate and support our efforts to prepare students for college and career success.

One way to be informed of our school’s plans for academic improvement is to attend our School Advisory Council (SAC) and School Advisory Forum (SAF) meetings every second Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. The next meeting is tentatively Tuesday, October 13, 2020, but may be adjusted. Please download Microsoft Teams then go to our website and click on the “SAC” link to join. We need you there!

Our 21st Century academic camp and our YMCA afterschool program have both begun with virtual programs. These are free programs where students receive homework assistance. The 21st Century Camp also provides Reading and Math enrichment, project-based learning, and engaging activities.

All Broward County teachers are required to meet state certifications or be in the process of completion. Included with this newsletter is a list of any staff who are currently completing state required certifications.

Have you heard? Our state has implemented new policies concerning the evaluation of teachers and administrators. Parents are able to provide input into faculty and administration performance evaluations. If you are interested, please provide me with your input in writing by April 30, 2021.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call our main office at 754-322-6950. I am more than happy to assist you!

Shedrick Dukes, Ed.S. Principal
