    5 Benefits of CA:

    · Because it is a small school, you have a more personal connection with professors.

    · Since CA students attend Broward College, you are better prepared for the college experience.

    · Student’s level of independence grows exponentially as they navigate both a high school and college education.

    · The students have a much bigger voice at CA than public high schools. Many of the school activities, such as pep rallies, are led by the student body.

    · There are more opportunities available for everyone, and there are no class rankings, so competition between students is low to nonexistent.

    5 Benefits of CA:

    • One of the greatest benefits of CA is the many opportunities brought to my attention every day. Two major opportunities that I got to experience were the Summer Scholars Cleveland Clinic Program and a free class to become a certified nurse assistant in just one summer.

    •  The second benefit of CA is how welcoming and supportive all of the staff are. They are always willing to help you and find every tool to help you become more successful and succeed. The CA staff would have free tutoring for college classes and SAT/ACT testing, sessions to help you apply for college and write your college essay, and just so much help overall with whatever you may need. They are always there for you and always want the best for everyone.

    • The third benefit of CA is the atmosphere of the school. The students and staff are amazing and everyone is there for the same reason, which is to graduate with your Associate’s Degree while also having the most amazing 2 years of high school.

    • The fourth benefit of CA is the organization and communication. Dr. Weinstein, the academic advisor, would meet with all the students in class at least once a month. She would make sure everyone was on the same page and that we knew the most important information at the moment. On top of that, specific CA teachers would constantly be sending out reminders, sending emails, or posting announcements on anything that may be going on at CA or anything that the students need to know about. In addition, Ms. Haygood, the principal of CA, knew everyone by name…that alone is amazing.

    • The last benefit of CA was the freedom. I absolutely loved not having to sit in a classroom from 8am to 3pm and being able to choose my classes. Being able to choose classes specific to my career interests and the time I want to take them is amazing, and all the CA staff are there to make sure you're led down the right path.

I absolutely loved my experience at CA and I wouldn't change my experience, my friends, or the CA staff for anything! I couldn't have had a better last two years of high school.

    5 Benefits of CA:

    • Having a smaller class size meant we could get individualized care and attention from our faculty. This was especially useful when requesting letters of recommendation, or in general, seeking advice from counselors.

    • Had the opportunity to get a job on campus in the physical sciences lab! This helped me learn important science skills that will help me in my college classes and internships, but also as I pursue a career in the STEM  field. (Plus, I got to save money for living in the city and drinking iced lattes in coffee shops)

    • Access to excellent professors was also a major factor in my choice. Having taken so many college courses by BC professors, I am now prepared to enter my years at NYU with experience and knowledge that will help me accelerate my studies and have the time for other endeavors.

    • Lots of opportunity for leadership and service.

    • I met some of my best friends here at CA. Our class was small, but close knit and so, I enjoyed the opportunity to not only cry over classes, but laugh about life with some really great friends.

P.S. Join the book club, you won't regret it!
