Elementary, middle, and high school students working at their group levels in a club
  • Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.

The National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

The CA@BC chapter of The National Honor Society boasts a yearly membership of about 200 students. College Academy students may join the CA chapter of NHS either by 1) transferring membership from their previous schools, or 2) by submitting an original application.

To transfer membership, students are required to submit a photocopy of an official document (membership certificate, membership card, program from induction ceremony, or signed letter from previous advisor certifying membership) at any time.

To become a new member students must submit an application and fulfill the following requirements:

    • Maintain an unweighted cum high school average of at least 3.0
    • Two, documented evidence of leadership
    • A minimum of 30 documented volunteer service hours
    • Good character

Each year there are two application periods: one in the fall, and one in the late spring. The CA NHS induction ceremony typically occurs in early December.

Each year, the CA chapter of NHS embarks on a wide variety of projects serving the school and the community. From charity fundraising, to service volunteering, to raising awareness for important causes, CA NHS is a vital part of The College Academy’s bridge to success!
