AWARDS

  • A+ School

For 12 years Nob Hill has been rated as an “A” school by the state of Florida through the A+School Recognition Funds.  This fund was set up by Florida’s former governor who proposed that a program be established that monies be awarded to schools that improved a letter grade or sustained high achievement.  The letter grades are determined by meeting certain high-performance levels on the FCAT (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Tests)

    Prevention School of Excellence

In 2009 Nob Hill Elementary was one of only nine Broward County Schools awarded the Prevention School of Excellence Award.  The school was recognized for its outstanding effort in providing effective services, support, and activities that promote positive behaviors – development of emotional resilience skills, positive mental health, and prosocial actions – while limiting and/or preventing violent behavior and drug use.

    5 Star Award

Nob Hill was also awarded the Five Star School Award that was created by the Commissioner’s Community Involvement Council of Florida and is presented annually to those schools that have shown evidence of exemplary community involvement. In order for a school to receive this award, a school must show documentation that it has achieved 100% of the established criteria in the categories of business partnerships, family involvement, volunteerism, Student Community Service, and School Advisory Councils.

    Blue Ribbon School

In 1992 Nob Hill Elementary was awarded the Blue Ribbon Award from the Secretary of Education for being high performing, regardless of the school’s demographics or percentage of students from disadvantaged backgrounds and for having reduced the achievement gap by improving student performance to high levels in reading and mathematics on state assessments or tests referenced by national norms.
