Greeting Cougar Parents and Community! We made history! Coconut Creek High is a “B’ rated school. This accomplishment is from the consistent hard work and dedication of our Cougar scholars, teachers, staff and community support. Our goal now is to continue with this momentum and use our “B” rating as a steppingstone to greater success.

We need the partnership and support of our Cougar parents and community. We will have more Cougar Scholar Excellence and Parent Nights throughout the school year showcasing our Cougar scholars and providing essential information to our parents and community. We need parents and community for our monthly School Advisory Forum (SAF) and School Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings.

Broward County Public Schools has moved to Focus student information system. Parents and scholars will no longer use Pinnacle and Virtual Counselor. The Focus Parent Portal is your gateway to staying connected with your student's educational journey in Broward County Public Schools. For the first time, parents/guardians with multiple students will be able to access all their students in one place. The portal will allow you to monitor your student's academic progress, stay informed of upcoming school and district events, and allow you to communicate directly with your student's teachers. You must create a new Parent Portal account using a valid email address and your student’s full name, student’s ID number (begins with “06”) and student’s date of birth.

There are some new changes to policies and procedures starting on the first day of school. All scholars, parents, vendors, and visitors will have to go through the metal detectors upon entry to the school. All scholars will enter school through the bus loop walkway. This includes bus riders, car riders, walkers, and student drivers who have a student parking decal. We will have two lanes open for the metal detectors. All vendors and visitors must go through the metal detection process in our Single Point of Entry (SPE). Scholars must have their 2024-2025 Coconut Creek school ID, vendors must have a district vendor badge, and all visitors must have a license, state ID, or passport. Please note that because of the need to screen all scholars who enter campus daily, Single Point Entry will open at 7:30 A.M. Please be patient as we implement this new process for safety and security of all our scholars, staff, and visitors.

Also, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, the School Board voted to limit students’ access to wireless communication devices during school hours unless authorized by their teacher or other school staff member. The limited access period is from the first bell of the day until the end of the school day, including passing periods and lunchtime. This is not a ban on cell phones or other technology; it is meant to help students Elevate their Learning and Disconnect to Reconnect in a Distraction-Free Environment. Students are permitted to bring a cell phone or other electronic device to school; however, during school hours, their devices must be turned off or in airplane mode. This restriction applies to all cell phones, tablets, laptops, headphones, earbuds, AirPods, smartwatches, and other internet-accessible communication devices. Together, we will ensure our Cougar scholars are in productive learning environment for academic and social success.

We are looking forward to continuing The Cougar Standard of Excellence as we Believe. Build. Bloom.
