Elementary, middle, and high school students working at their group levels in a club
  • Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.

  • Chorus and Sparky Sound

Chorus and Sparky Sound are musical activities that are open to students at Sheridan Park Elementary. The Chorus is open to all 3rd through 5th grade students. SPE Chorus performs in the Fall and Spring, as well as other special events.

Sparky Sound is an Orff Ensemble that plays a variety of instruments to accompany vocals and movement. Sparky Sound is only open to 4th and 5th grade students and students are selected through an audition process. Along with Fall and Spring performances, Sparky Sound participates in the Broward County Elementary Music Performance Assessment held each spring.

  • FIRST LEGO League Robotics

Sheridan Park Elementary's FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Robotics Club is an after-school program offered to 3rd, 4th, 5th Grade students. FLL is based on a project-based learning model aimed at Leadership, Teamwork, Research, Planning, Technology, and Programming.

Students work to prepare their research projects and presentations on an annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) challenge, along with building and programming a robot based on LEGO's MINDSTORMS Spike Prime software. Robots are used to complete various missions/obstacles on a field set up based also on the annual STEM challenge. These project presentations and robot performances will be judged during local qualifying, regional, and state competitions.
