    July 31, 2021

    Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

As the principal of Lauderhill Paul Turner ES, it is a pleasure to welcome you all back from an unprecedented school year.  We are excited to not only have our students face-to-face, but to be together as a family once again. It is our mission to have everyone feel welcomed, connected, and a part of the LPT Family. Additionally, we will challenge ALL students to make LEAPS in his or her academic abilities and be ready for the next grade level content.

As we plan for a beginning like none we have seen before, our focus will still be on ensuring that every child finds a way to feel connected to their teacher and classmates.  At our school, we have teachers and staff who spend hours planning lessons and activities to engage students in learning. Our teachers use research-based practices and analyze academic and social-emotional data to set goals for growth and improvement.   Every day students should be challenged by new learnings and experiences.

Normal is such a simple word and it is our goal at Lauderhill Paul Turner to not only find our new normal, but to use this time as a learning experience that will forever impact student achievement.  We can’t wait to move on to the next phase of learning. We know that there will be challenges that lie ahead… but, We Can Do This!

As we start off this new school year, our goal is to continue to enhance our students academically and socially. Also, as we return to 100% Face-to-Face instruction, we must continue to foster positive and meaningful relationships with our students and families. With that being said, I want to say, welcome back to our returning students and those who are new, welcome to the Roadrunner family! I embrace you all with open arms (from 3-6 feet away) to our community!

This year our theme is “LPT STRONG: Back Together, Stronger Than Ever”. We will embrace a new beginning and commitment to maintaining the highest standards. There will be no shortage of opportunities for our students to feel “back-at-home” and challenged on a daily basis with high quality instruction. With all the challenges we have overcome over the last two school years, we have developed perseverance, new methods of engagement, and an appreciation for what was our “normal”.  With these new skills in tow, we will continue to strive to become masters of our craft and guide your child through their journey towards success.  We are ready for this challenge!  We ARE LPT STRONG!

The journey begins with our students on Friday, August 13, 2021 @ 1:00 p.m. at our Meet & Greet. I look forward to seeing you then! Thank you in advance for making 2021-22 a great year for students, as we soar to academic, professional and most importantly, personal success!

    Sincerely,

    Michelle E. Mcknight
