Dear Walker Family,
Welcome back to the 2019-2020 academic school year at the wonderful Walker Elementary School. I am beaming with Wildcat Pride as your new principal and lead learner. It is truly an honor to serve you. We have much to be proud of and our accomplishments are a testament to the determination of our students, parents, and teachers. The beginning of 2019 will provide an opportunity for all of our students to represent all that is great about Walker Elementary School, Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, and the great State of Florida. Your child’s education and safety are our top priority. We will enhance our efforts to effectively integrate our positive behavior curriculum, social-emotional learning, and effective discipline through our multi-tiered system of support. We look forward to building on the foundation that has been cultivated, and working with and supporting all stakeholders to add to the rich history, culture, and legacy of Clarence C. Walker, Sr., our school’s namesake. As your Principal, I will serve and defend your child’s right to be amazing.
I want to wish each and every member of our Walker Family a successful school year, and also thank you for entrusting your children to us during the school day. If you would like to meet with me in person about anything that is on your mind, please do not hesitate to contact me or our Assistant Principal, Mr. Favata. We will always look forward to assisting our families in any way that we can. As the Walker Elementary administration, we have a true open-door policy and welcome the opinions and ideas of our parents and community. If you have a specific concern about something that has occurred in your child’s classroom, please speak with your child’s teacher to discuss the concern with them first. Working hand in hand with you, I am confident that all issues and concerns can be rectified with positive results.
Should you have any questions regarding this information, please contact me at your convenience. I hope you are all having a fantastic summer, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying some much-needed rest. I am beyond excited to start the next chapter in Walker’s journey with all of you. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage each of you to become a volunteer, join our PTA, and get involved. Additionally, parents interested in providing input into the performance evaluations of Walker’s instructional and/or administrative evaluations may contact our office at (754) 322-8800 by April 10, 2020. Working together, there is nothing that we cannot achieve. I am looking forward to a truly spectacular year!
