Principal's Message

  • Parents, Students, Staff and Community Members:

    Ms. Manville

Welcome to the 2021-2022 School year!

    Dear Park Trails Community,

We are certainly excited to begin the 2021-2022 school year. While we recognize the challenges our students faced during the pandemic and our need to fill the gaps our students have experienced during this time, we have a solid remediation plan designed to close those gaps. For our students that are excelling, our Gifted & Talented program is being enhanced to provide additional opportunities for our high performing students.

Our theme for this year is “Full STEAM Ahead” as we kick off our STEAM Program: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Our students will participate in STEAM activities during their Specials rotation. We have expanded our Robotics & Engineering Lab. Our Media special has been enhanced to offer Multimedia & Technology, including coding. Our Art room has been redesigned to be an Art & Design lab, complete with Makerspace stations. All three of our STEAM electives will have a Lego wall, Makerspace activities, and the classes will present themed activities that focus on all areas of STEAM. Traditional art and exposure to the Art Masters will continue through our Meet the Masters programs.

We expect to resume field trips in the Spring and look forward to getting back to a more “normal” environment. We encourage parents to register to become a volunteer, as we will be bringing back volunteers on a limited basis and hope to increase parental involvement throughout the year.

Finally, we are excited to be celebrating our 20th anniversary this year. We are planning some wonderful rededication activities in January. With so much happening at Park Trails this year, it will certainly be an exciting year. Please know that our doors are always open and we look forward to working together to ensure that the 2021-2022 year is the best one ever!

    Welcome back!

    Arlene Manville, Proud Principal
