  • March 30 Morning Update:

For our high school students using the Clever/Canvas platforms:

BCPS is experiencing internet slowness due to a sudden spike in users logging into Canvas and Clever. They are actively working on the solution and will send another notice as soon as the problem is resolved. Please try again in a few minutes; if you still cannot access your classes, please email your teachers. They will work with you to ensure you have the information you need in order to participate with your class work.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience during this brief time.

  • March 27, 2020 School Update

Hello, McFatter Technical College and High School students and families.

On Saturday, March 28, from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm, the District will be still distribute laptops for students to use as planned. These computers will be distributed for McFatter students at our school.

Broward County issued Executive Order 20-03 Shelter-In-Place on March 26, 2020.  This order does not apply to the necessary computer laptop device distribution on Saturday, March 28, 2020.  The school district will still have the distribution and offer the following reminders:

    • People with flu-like symptoms must stay home and are not permitted on school campuses.

    • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued guidelines for “community mitigation strategies” to limit the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, which include recommendations for “social distancing” - a conscious effort to reduce close contact between people, by trying to maintain a six feet distance, and hopefully stymie community transmission of the virus.

In order to practice social distancing as recommended by health officials, you’ll remain in your vehicle and our staff will assist you curbside. Please enter our east lot (off Davie Road) and join the distribution line in the parking lot. Per above, please do not come if you are sick.

Adult students enrolled in Drafting, or in any program which uses Adobe software, should not report to campus on Saturday for a device; please contact your instructor for information specific to your program.

For high school students needing a device, the parent/guardian must come to campus on Saturday. The student *may* come, but is not required; however, the parent must have identification, and must have the student’s ID number and district login password.  Adult students (who are not in Drafting or an Adobe-related program) requiring a laptop device are to report to campus on Saturday with identification. Please have your student ID number and district login password with you.

If your McFatter student already has a computer to access his/her instruction online, it is not necessary for you to get one from the District.

For students still needing to retrieve any belongings from campus, this will also be available on Saturday, between 10 a.m. and noon only. If you come to campus for this purpose, please state that to the gate security personnel so that they can direct you to the appropriate location.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we transition to online learning beginning on Monday, March 30.
