Admissions Testing

As part of the admissions process for Broward College (BC) and the application process for the College Academy (CA), you must take the College's Basic Skills Assessment Test called the ACCUPLACER Test. The ACCUPLACER has three sections that you must pass: Reading Writing, and Math. The testing takes approximately 3 hours and is done remotely.
The ACCUPLACER is not an easy test, particularly in the math area. It is recommended that students prepare for the test. ACCUPLACER Test prep resources are located below.
Applicants will be afforded two attempts during the application window: January - February. BC charges a fee to remotely and for all retest attempts. Click here for all testing fee. Refer to the Broward College testing policy for retesting guidelines and requirements.
Students who have qualifying ACCUPLACER/PERT/SAT/ACT scores do not have to take the ACCUPLACER. As per BC Policy, test scores submitted must not be older than two years to be used for admission.

ACCUPLACER Instructions:
Applicants are not required to take the ACCUPLACER test prior to applying. Remote testing is available year-round for those that wish to test early.
Students who meet initial criteria will have their online application status changed to "proceed to test". Detailed testing instructions will be uploaded to their online application. Read and follow the instructions carefully.
CA @ BC applicants must adhere to the Broward College testing policy and fees. A retesting fee applies for all retest attempts, regardless of the age of the previous scores. For more information about these BC testing fees click here.
For those who would like to test prior to the CA @ BC application window, remote placement testing is available year-round. Testing instructions can be found on the Broward College website. Remember, the BC testing policy and fees apply.

Students must achieve a CA required passing score on each section of the ACCUPLACER. Students will be afforded two attempts during the application window: January - February.
