Hello Collins Family,
I pray that your families are doing well. For the month of March, we remain in our most critical time of preparation for the Florida Statewide Assessment (FSA) for Grades K-5. We strongly encourage all students to get proper rest, a hardy breakfast, and come to school daily prepared to learn. Yes, Spring Break is coming, but before the break, we expect our students to be in attendance daily as well as in the after-school intervention camps in preparation for these assessments. As I stated to the staff and the students, now is not the time to relax. All of us are responsible for our role in the learning process. Whether at home or school, we want our students to succeed. Your role is essential in that learning process.
Below are some important dates to remember as we look forward to the upcoming days:
Thursday, March 16 is an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at 12 noon.
Friday, March 17 is an Employee Planning Day. There is no school for students.
Spring Break is designated for March 20 – March 24, 2023.
Thursday, April 20 is NO longer an Early Release Day.
Students are expected to return to school on Monday, 27th. THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE FOURTH QUARTER OF SCHOOL! EVERY STUDENT NEEDS TO BE IN ATTENDANCE.Please note that the School Improvement Plan for the 2022-2023 school year is available for your review on our school website: https://www.browardschools.com/collins.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school at 754-323-5150. Thank you again for your cooperation. Be well and stay healthy.
Sincerely,
Tracy D. Jackson, Ed.D.
