Greetings Rock Family! 

I am beyond excited and eager for the launch of the 2024 – 2025 school year.  This will be my third year serving as the proud Assistant Principal of Remarkable Rock Island Elementary School.

After 17 years of serving the students and families of Broward County, I am still as enthused and passionate about impacting the lives of young scholars as I was on day one of my journey as an educator.  I am especially honored to serve MY community, cultivating the next generation of innovative leaders.   

I am a proud alum of Florida A&M University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I obtained a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University, and I received a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. 

My goal is to ensure that we continue to meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of each scholar, meeting the child where they are…as they are.   

Rock Island Elementary is rooted in a community rich with tradition and love, and I am proud to stand firm on the very same foundation.   

This year’s theme focuses on “The M.E.T.A. -Morphosis” of Rock Island Elementary School.  The term metamorphosis is also used more broadly in a metaphorical sense to describe any profound change or transformation in form, structure, or character.  This school year will bring out a transformation in our academic infrastructure, igniting a love of learning in every scholar, while giving them the capability to succeed in a diverse 21^st century world.
