  • Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.

  • Save Promise Club

    Margate Elementary has chosen to have a S.A.V.E Promise Club (SPC) Mrs. Lori Katz is Margate Elementary's School Champion. 

    Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) Promise Club is the youth leadership initiative of Sandy Hook Promise. Led by our Youth Advisory Board, the aim is to empower young leaders to take an active role in increasing school safety and preventing different forms of violence in schools and communities.   • Student Council

    Our Student Council is composed on representatives for all grades 3-5 classes and meets twice a month to help coordinate social, volunteer and civic activities for our school. School-wide elections were held for President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary.

  • Wednesday Writers

    Our Wednesday writers is a morning club facilitated by Mr. Schroeder with the purpose of creating a student-led newspaper. The club is open to fourth and fifth grade and meets every morning starting at 7:05 a.m. in the morning. 

    Grade Levels Served: Fourth and Fifth Grade

    Times: Wednesday 7:00-7:50 a.m.

  • Panther Pals

    Our Panther Pals is a unified club in which our peer mentors meet with our panthers in the ASD special programs. The club helps with the special olympics and creates a unfied and joyful learning experience. The club meets afterschool monthly and is under the direction of Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Forrester. 

    Time: Tuesdays, Monthly 2:00-3:00 p.m.

  • Gardening Club

    Our Gardening Club is led by Mr. Morrison and Mrs. Bejune. Each Tuesday, we tend to our sustainable garden area and beautifying our campus. The club is open to panthers in grades 2-5.

  • Safety Patrol

    The Safety Patrol is an integral part of Margate Elementary School. Fifth-grade safety patrol members learn to accept responsibility and develop leadership abilities. Patrol members become aware of their role as safety leaders and realize they can make an essential contribution to the safety of other children. Safety Patrol members are selected on the basis of maturity, leadership, dependability, and consent of parents and teachers. The duties of patrol members are described fully to them by the supervisor. Recognition is provided at the end of the school year for safety patrol members.

  • Choir/Chorus

    Our Chorus meets several times a week under the direction of Mr. DiGregorio. The chorus performs at both state and local competitions. Each year the chorus performs two shows and entertains our community. Chorus is open to students in Grades 3-5.

  • Debate

    Debate is a club where our children learn effective communication and debate skills. Our group participates in didstrict-wide competition. The club is open to students in grades 3-5 and under the direction of Mrs. Mills.

  • Chess Club

    The Chess Club is an open club for all students who want to learn the game of chess and compete in school and at-large tournaments. The chess club is open to students in grades 3-5 and under the direction of Mr. Michael Peterson.

    Chess Club A:  Every Other Tuesday, 2:00-3:00 p.m.

    Chess Club B: Every Other Tuesday, 2:00-3:00 p.m.
