  • Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.

  • Book Club

    Sponsor: Mrs. Neunie

    The purpose of our Book Club is to promote literacy and a sense of belonging amongst our students.  It also provides an opportunity for students to engage in meaningful dialogue with their peers, express their opinions, and learn to respond to differing opinions with respect.

    Debate is an after-school club offered to a selected number of our fourth and fifth-grade students.  In this club, students learn effective communication and debate skills, which are put to the test in a district-wide debate competition.

  • Kiwanis Kids (K-Kids) Club

    Sponsor: 

    Kiwanis Kids (K-Kids) Club is the largest service organization for elementary school students, with more than 985 clubs worldwide. Club members discover their passion to serve, desire to lead and their ability to engage and collaborate with others to better the school and community.

  • Safety Patrol

    Sponsor: Ms. M. Cunningham

    Banyan Elementary Safety Patrols are a unique and exceptional group of young leaders.  As a unique group of leaders, not everyone can be part of the Safety Patrols. Patrols are recommended by their teachers to represent the highest of standards both during and after school hours.  The students are brought through training programs to help with safety and are taught leadership skills to enhance out school moral and student relationships.

  • SAVE Promise Club

    Sponsor: 

    SAVE Promise Club stands for Students Against Violence Everywhere. Students are taught the "see something, say something" protocol. In addition, students are taught to be Upstanders by making good choices and promoting positivity by saying hello and making students who isolate themselves feel comfortable. Lastly, the club members have chosen a trusted adult if they choose to speak with someone about an issue or concern that they have.
