Principal's Message

    Mrs. Winder - Principal

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Partners in Education,

Welcome to our Indian Trace Elementary School website. Indian Trace Elementary is an “A” rated school and the recipient of the prestigious Golden School Award for exemplary practices for parent and community involvement. We were the first Broward County Public School to receive the Florida Power School Library Award from the Department of Education for our outstanding Media and Library Program. Quality library programs have been proven to improve student achievement!

I am excited to begin another school year with you. This year’s school-wide theme is “Never Stop Growing!”  Students and teachers at all grade levels will work collaboratively through project-based learning to master grade-level standards with a focus on integrating core subjects with real-world application. We will continue to pursue our “Green” initiatives as we strive to find new ways to reduce, reuse and recycle to protect our planet Earth! We will embrace our uniqueness and celebrate the diversity that makes our Indian Trace Elementary family extraordinary! We will learn and grow together in so many ways during the 2022-2023 school year!

We are proud to continue our successful dual language program in all grade levels K-5. Our second and third-grade students will strengthen their problem-solving and critical thinking skills as they learn to play the game of chess. We will continue to offer a variety of enrichments including Green Team, Robotics, Spanish Club, Book Clubs, T.V. Production, Debate, Chorus, and Tracer Buddies Peer Counseling Program. This year we are excited to add a drama club for students in grades 2-5. Our goal at Indian Trace Elementary School is to prepare all of our students to be college and career-ready. We pride ourselves on providing exposure to a variety of learning experiences and enrichments so that when they leave our school, they are prepared to choose electives in middle and high school that interest them. All of our teachers are highly qualified and continuously take advantage of professional development opportunities to provide our students with rich and rigorous units of study. I am confident that all children will be motivated to learn and will continue to show growth.

I would like to thank our parents and community members for your ongoing support. Please continue to stay involved by volunteering, attending PTA and SAC meetings, and family events. My door is always open to you and your children. Feel free to reach out to me via telephone or email if you have questions or need assistance. Follow me on Twitter @Winder_ITE or @IndianTraceElem. We always have a lot to share via social media.

I look forward to another amazing school year!

    Your proud princi-pal,

    Amy Winder
