Drop Off & Pick Up
Morning Drop Off
Parents are responsible for supervising their students to and from school. There is no supervision before 7:15 a.m. Breakfast starts at 7:15 a.m. and ends promptly at 7:50 a.m. Students arriving to school prior to 7:15 am should be escorted by a parent to the cafeteria entrance for early breakfast.
Students should be dropped off and picked up at the car loop located on 36th Street. CLICK HERE TO VIEW MAP. The gate will remain open until 8:05 a.m. and will reopen at 1:50 p.m. for dismissal. Parents are asked to pull their vehicles all the way up to the end of the drop off line before stopping, allowing other parents to pull up behind them in the drop off line. For safety reasons, students should exit your vehicle curbside only. Do not allow students to exit into the traffic lane or to walk between stopped vehicles.
Please do not drop off students at the main entrance on State Road 7. All students arriving after 8:05 am will be considered tardy. Those arriving after 8:05 a.m. will enter through the front of the school and will need to obtain a pass from the front office to be admitted to class. Parents are required to walk students into the office and sign them in. Parents are reminded not to park in the fire lanes or to block traffic lanes. Parents will not be permitted to walk their children to the classrooms.
Afternoon Pick Up
Students will be dismissed from class by 1:50 p.m. To reduce congestion in the dismissal area and ensure a safe and orderly dismissal, all parents are asked to meet students at the car loop on 36th Street. Please allow five to ten minutes for students to walk to the pick up area on 36th Street.
Parents of students in the Headstart Pre-K program and parents of medically fragile students will ONLY be permitted to drop off and pick up in their students in the front of the school.
Any and all changes to a child's regular dismissal pattern for the day must be sent to the school in writing or via fax. Changes will not be accepted over the telephone for security reasons.
Parents who need to sign students out from school early must go to the main entry on State Road 7 before 1:30 p.m. Students cannot be signed out after 1:30 p.m., once dismissal preparations have started, and will be sent home by their normal dismissal method. Any parent or guardian wishing to sign a student out of school must be authorized to do so as noted on the student's Emergency Card and must bring a valid picture identification card.
For the safety of our students, the school cannot release students unless these conditions are met.
Note: Students signed out early will lose attendance credit for the time missing from school.
For the safety and security of your child, it is very important that the school has accurate, up-to-date, emergency contact information for each student.
It is also very important that the school has dismissal directions in writing. Your child will not be sent home by any method other than the one you have indicated to the school in writing. If this method needs to be changed, it must be in writing by the legal parent or guardian. Requests for dismissal changes over the phone will not be accepted.
