Greetings Pompano Beach Elementary School Family Community,

I am Shezette Small, the Particularly Proud Principal of our dynamic school! I'm ALWAYS excited about school and I hope you all are too! I have to say in all years working for Broward County Public Schools, these past couple of years have been the most unique years ever. So many new experiences. The BEST news ever, was PBES earning a "B" Grade! Our scholars worked hard and the results were evident that we've grown technologically, emotionally, and spiritually too. We have risen to the challenge placed before us and I know we will continue to grow as a school family and community.

Since arriving at Pompano in 2017, I have taken great pride in helping the children at Pompano Beach Elementary thrive and reach their optimum potential. Our teachers and students work hard, they are dedicated and motivated, and they give 100% every single day. My primary focus as a leader is ensuring teachers have EVERYTHING they need to prepare children to be college and career-ready and become productive members of society. Along with the academic goals, I also understand the importance of building good citizens who want to create a better world for all of us to live in (especially now). At Pompano Beach Elementary, we will continue to put great effort into making learning meaningful, as well as teaching the children the importance of making our world a better place.

I am proud to work alongside a dynamic staff that is committed, dedicated and works hard to provide the foundation for academic excellence for your children, as well as making the learning environment a safe and special place for all children.

I will continue to treasure the partnership we have with parents and the community, and I greatly value the time and energy our volunteers give to the school. We, as a school, ask that each family take part in our family events, PTSO and School Advisory groups so we can keep Pompano Beach Elementary on the rise. Our meetings are currently being held each month (usually one Thursday each month, so listen for the parent link or check our website).

Again, I am honored to be the Principal of Pompano Beach Elementary School, and I look forward to a great partnership with teachers, students, parents and the community as a whole! Let's have a GREAT school year!
