Dear Tamarac Community Members and Families,
I want to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year. It is my sincere pleasure and honor to be able to assist Principal Richard Garrick in making this a great school year and support the mission and vision of Tamarac Elementary School. I am confident our students will prosper during these challenging and transformational times. With change comes opportunity and we will strive to continuously improve and reconstruct the educational experience of our students.
I have 17 years of experience in education, having worked as a general education classroom teacher, education specialist, ESE teacher, ESE specialist, and as an administrator. My passion for life-long learning and a dedication to ensuring the success of ALL children is what keeps me in education.Tamarac Elementary administration and staff take pride in providing a safe environment where students are supported emotionally, physically, and academically.
It is my strong desire to see every student confident in their ability to attempt all tasks laid before them in a supportive, inclusive environment. Each day you will see students challenged and motivated through rigorous, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences. We are committed to providing a well-rounded educational experience that will prepare students to be College and Career Ready and 21st Century Digital Citizens.
Tamarac Elementary aims to provide every student with unique experiences relevant to the real world through interdisciplinary instruction and the use of technology. All community stakeholder input is welcome and will help ensure our students participate in high interest, self-motivating academic education.
Research has shown students who have opportunities to lead their learning and are actively engaged in debate, scientific investigations, and action research projects tend to have better grades, school attendance, cognitive performance (memory), and better classroom behavior. This type of instruction helps every student reach their full potential.
I look forward to working collaboratively with community members and families to achieve the highest level of student success."At Tamarac Elementary: There are a Rainbow of Possibilities to be Successful"
Sincerely,
Dana M. Thomson
