The Broward County Public School Family Counseling has come to fruition through the Broward County Community Partnership Division Grant (BCCPD). The grant has funded the program for over 30 years to provide counseling services for students and their families. 

The Family Counseling Program (FCP) functions under the belief that a mentally healthy student learns better. Research has found that when someone experiences emotional difficulty they may suffer repercussions that lead to problems in their general daily functioning. For students, this is often evident in the academic arena, whether academically, behaviorally, or in terms of poor attendance.

Frequently, school-related problems may be symptomatic of those problems.
