  • Dear Students, Parents, Staff and Partners,

I am thrilled to begin another school year with you! I am proud to announce that Indian Trace has once again achieved an A+ rating from the Florida Department of Education for the 2018-2019 school year. We have achieved this success as a result of the teamwork and commitment of our staff, students and parents. This genuine partnership has been the key to our success over the past few years. I feel very fortunate to be leading this A+ team.

This year’s school-wide theme is “The 4th “R”; Refuse To Be Ordinary”. We will continue to pursue our green initiatives and explore ways to save our planet as we Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Refuse to Be Ordinary!! Students and teachers at all grade levels will work collaboratively to through project based learning to master the Florida Standards and 21st century learning with a focus on integrating core subjects with real world application. We will continue embrace our uniqueness and celebrate the diversity that makes our school family extraordinary!

We are proud to be expanding our successful dual language program to include classes on all grade levels K-5. Our second and third grade students will continue to strengthen their problem solving and critical thinking skills by playing the game of chess. We will continue to offer a variety of enrichments including Green Team, Robotics, Spanish Club, Book Clubs, T.V. Production, Debate and Tracer Buddies Peer Counseling Program. We are also one of only a few schools in the district to fully implement the Digital 3,4,5 program. This program affords all of our third, fourth and fifth grade students the opportunity to utilize laptops, digital resources, online instructional materials and other learning tools to maximize and personalize their learning. Our goal is to prepare all of our students to be college and career ready. All of our teachers are highly qualified and continuously take advantage of professional development opportunities to provide our students with rich and rigorous units of study. I am confident that your children will be motivated to learn and will continue to show growth.

I would like to thank you all for your ongoing support. Please continue to stay involved by volunteering at school, attending PTA and SAC meetings, and family events. My door is always open to you and your children. Feel free to come by and see me if you have questions or need assistance.

I look forward to another amazing school year!
