    The Broward County Middle School Athletic Association (MSAA) of Broward County Public Schools is committed to building leaders through sportsmanship, citizenship, and fair play. MSAA currently oversees 59 public and charter middle schools and 8 different sports.

      • Rickards Middle offers Cheerleading, Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball, Track & Field Events, Flag Football, and Volleyball.

        All student-athletes must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.  Students who fall below this standard are ineligible to play.

      Basketball

      • Basketball season runs from October 24 through December 10.

      Cheerleading

      • Cheerleading will return to Rickards Middle School in the 2024-2025 school year!

      Flag Football

      • Flag Football season runs from January 18 through March 9.

      Soccer

      • Soccer season is starting at James S. Rickards Middle School!

        Tryout dates start next week!

        • Girls tryouts will be August 20 & 21 from 4 to 5 pm
        • Boys tryouts will be August 21 & 22 from 4 to 6 pm

      Track and Field

      • Track and Field season runs from March 28 through May 13.

      Volleyball

      • Volleyball season runs from November 29 through January 31.
