21st Century is a state-funded program, under what is now the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This program provides academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading, math and science. The program also offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children. The program runs from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Activities will be held throughout the school year and the summer.
Students are given the opportunity to learn and grow through exciting and engaging Project-Based Learning activities. Projects and daily tutoring groups ensure academic excellence in reading, science, and mathematics. In addition to student academics, monthly parents' nights are held to promote lifelong learning and parent education.
Students partake in a variety of enrichment opportunities to encourage personal development. Enrichment activities include technology, STEM, character education, gardening, crocheting, nutrition, and physical fitness.
