Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.

Chess Club
Sponsor: Mr. A. Picado
Chess Club was inaugurated in 2023 and has earned 5th and 2nd place finishes at Broward County Schools competitions. We have a member range of 1st-5th grade students. Competitions are twice a year, usually one in winter and one in spring; they’re on Saturdays and usually go from 8:00 am- 3:00 pm at a host high school (TBA). Chess club participants learn chess strategies once a week usually from 8:00 – 8:30 am. Spaces are limited, and members are expected to have basic chess knowledge when applying for this club. Debate
Sponsor: Mr. A. Picado
Debate Club is for students in grades 3-5. Students learn strategies to write and perform persuasive essays that must be at least 3 minutes in length. Speeches must be memorized. The club holds practice once a week, usually on Fridays (12:30 – 1:30 pm). Competitions (4 per school year) are usually on a school day at a high school. Transportation to and from each competition is provided by Broward Schools; however, parents must pick up in a timely manner. Coach Picado will send messages that keep parents informed of possible return times, which vary between 7:00 – 8:00 pm. If interested, request a club application to Coach Picado. Garden Club

The purpose of Ramblewood Elementary gardening club is to engage students with plant life in a series of ways, including sprouting plants from seeds, raising, and cultivating plants, propagating from already-existing plants, and working towards a community garden of vegetables, herbs, and decorating plants. Overall, our students are learning how to grow and sustain plants and replicate that knowledge outside of school. Robotics

Safety Patrol
Sponsor: Mr. F. BergmanThe Safety patrol program contributes to a safer school environment. Open to all eligible 5th grade students. Patrols work their assigned posts during student arrival and dismissal times. Role models to their younger peers, safety patrols help keep our hallways safe. Patrols sign in every morning and work their post until the first bell. A limited number of patrols work an afterschool post helping out with bus dismissal. Fourth graders will have the opportunity to join at the end of the year in order to prepare for the following year. Singing Rams

Student Council
Sponsor: Ms. S. SchafferThe Student Council is a club for 5th grade students who are leaders and role models in the school. These students support the school by assisting with school-wide initiatives, such as Harvest Drive, Red Ribbon Week, Recycling, and Service Week. They also encourage younger students to make good choices and show kindness by reading books with positive messages of kindness to younger classrooms.
