Principal's Message

  • Sabrina Sheib

I cannot believe how quickly this year has progressed. The fourth quarter is upon us and before you know it this school year will end. As we enter the fourth quarter, it is important to engage in your child’s learning to ensure they continue to make progress each day. Riverside students have made such tremendous growth over this school year, and I know it is because of the home-school partnership that this is possible. Continue to monitor your child’s work completion and good citizenship as our students continue to blossom and bloom.

We are beginning to enter our end of year testing season. These assessments will be able to ensure our students are continuing to improve their educational opportunities and have targeted instruction. End of year assessments are a chance for students to highlight all they learned during the school year, and a way for us to plan instruction for the start of next school year. Additionally, some programs utilize these scores for admissions. All grade levels will participate in some type of assessment, so it is important to review the results and their implications with your child’s teacher. Also, help your child feel prepared, by allowing them time to rest and relax and have a healthy breakfast prior to their testing sessions.

As always, stay in contact with your classroom teacher as we partner together to ensure your child enjoys a top-notch educational experience. I am honored to serve the staff and families that continue to be dedicated to ensuring that the students of Riverside Elementary, “develop into well-rounded students with the ability to contribute to society and envision a better future.”

I am so proud of our family involvement this year and look forward to our end of year student activities. Our children loved our family nights and Urban Air was an exceptional success. Our PTO Ninja Run was exciting to watch! Our families raised over $30,000 which will be used toward enhancements to our campus so that our students will feel a positive climate at school. We look forward to everyone participating in our 4th Quarter events and end of year celebrations. It is an exciting time for everyone, and a wonderful way to celebrate an exciting year.

Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and School Advisory Council (SAC) are great ways to share in the decision-making process. Even just becoming a member of our PTO is a wonderful way to support our school community. Please call our office staff to learn about participating in either of these organizations.

Please take the time to follow our school on Twitter @RSERocky and Like "Riverside Elem Coral Springs" on Facebook. Also, receive information for Riverside Elementary right on your phone and through email by ensuring you have updated information as part of your child’s record. We utilize the Parent Link System to provide updates as needed, and to provide weekly school specific information.

Our school-wide theme continues to be showcased through-out the school. Examples of Peace, Love and Kindness! #RSE is Kind! can be seen throughout the classrooms and in the displays throughout the buildings. Thanks to our projects, this year we have been able to add beautiful murals that help promote positive thoughts.

I am passionate about finding the brilliance in every child. I believe that there is always a way to help a child find success and that it is essential that we motivate children to discover their talents and gifts so that they can have the future of their dreams. My door is always open to families and community stakeholders. I look forward to this partnership because I know working together makes all the difference.

Please know that I am here to serve the Riverside Community and look forward to a successful school year together!

    Mrs. Sabrina Sheib
