Principal's Message

I want to wish all our Riverside families a very happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and enjoyed your time connecting with family and friends. As we enter the new year, we are excited by the achievement of our students. Our students have completed all mid-year assessments and the results look amazing. Students are making tremendous gains in both reading and math and we know this will continue throughout the second half of the year.

Riverside Elementary School is proud to be named an “A” School by the State of Florida. The hard work and dedication of the entire Riverside family contributed to this success. Volunteers are an important part of our success. If you haven’t already, please register at browardschools.com/volunteer, or contact the front office if you need assistance. We want this year to be an amazing one for our entire school community.

Our theme for the school year is Riverside Elementary, Where Learning is an Adventure! The last few years have truly been an adventure and through that adventure we found academic success! We look forward to all of the new learning adventures that are upcoming throughout the school year.  We thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school.

We are so proud of our continued family involvement this year. We had an amazing Fall Parade and Trunk or Treat, as well as the many festivities in December. It was especially exciting to virtually welcome everyone to our Holidays Around the World Performance, where every student in the school was able to make an appearance on our stage. We had a wonderful family night at Cherry Smash with so many of our families enjoying ice cream and socializing. Many family members had a great time cheering on their children during our fun-filled field days! All our students also had the opportunity to paint our school mural as part of the 10,000 Flowers Project that took place right on our campus! There are so many ways to connect here at Riverside. Please continue to join us in upcoming family and school-based events. Please continue to read our Happy Friday weekly memos that are emailed, as this is where we share all our information each week. This will help your family get the most out of your school year and gain information about all our upcoming events.

There are two great ways to continue working as a team in our school. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and School Advisory Council (SAC) are great ways to share in the decision-making process. Even just becoming a member of our PTO is a wonderful way to support our school community. Please call our office staff to learn about participating in either of these organizations.

Please take the time to follow our school on Twitter @RSERocky and Like "Riverside Elem Coral Springs" on Facebook. Also, receive information for Riverside Elementary right on your phone and through email by ensuring you have updated information as part of your child’s record. We utilize the Parent Link System to provide updates as needed, and to provide weekly school specific information. Please remember if you see something, say something! Download the Fortify Florida and the Safer Watch apps for reporting.

I am honored to serve the staff and families, bringing my twenty-nine years of educational experience to this amazing school. I am dedicated to working alongside all stakeholders, to ensure that the students of Riverside Elementary, “develop into well-rounded students with the ability to contribute to society and envision a better future.”

I am passionate about finding brilliance in every child. I believe that there is always a way to help a child find success and that it is essential that we motivate children to discover their talents and gifts so that they can have the future of their dreams. My door is always open to families and community stakeholders. I look forward to this partnership because I know working together makes all the difference.

Please know that I am here to serve the Riverside Community and look forward to a successful school year together!

    Mrs. Sabrina Sheib
