Before and After School Child Care

    The mission of Before and After School Child Care (BASCC) is to provide students enrolled in Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) with:

    • an inclusive child care program in a safe and nurturing environment
    • a culturally enriching program that promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of each child
    • a program that meets the highest quality of childcare standards

  • After Care Overview

    Sunshine Academy, Private Provider Approved by the School Board 

    We follow a daily planned schedule of developmentally appropriate activities.  These include student academic support for homework, reading enrichment, arts and crafts, music, dance, organized sports, outside play, and indoor games.  Certified teachers are hired to work with students in our after-school programs to facilitate many of these specialized student activities. Sunshine After School Programs include the supper program or an individually wrapped snack and juice drink for each student.

    Activities and Services Offered:

    • Individual healthy snacks/juice or the SBBC Supper program
    • Daily quiet homework time
    • Hands-on Science, Reading, Technology
    • Character Education
    • Arts and Crafts
    • Intermural Sports
    • Music
    • Dance
    • Social Skills and much more
