Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.
Clubs and Activities

Art Club
Art Club is led by Ms. Abdel-Kader and Mrs. Capuozzo and is open to students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades. This club is for students interested in self- expression and the arts. Students learn artistic techniques and have the opportunity to submit projects in competitions. The club meets Mondays after school.

Chorus
The Fabulous Flamingos Chorus is directed by Mr. Amerson and is open to students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Auditions are held in the fall of each year. Students perform for the school, for families and at community events. The Fabulous Flamingos Chorus practices Mondays and Thursdays after school.

Debate
Debate Team is led by Ms. Biava and is open to student in 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade. Debate team members learn effective communication and debate skills which are utilized in regional debate competitions. The team meets after school on multiple days of the week. The are led by Debate Coach Ms. Biava.

Chess Club
Chess club is led by Ms. Biava and is open to student in 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade. The club meets after school on Fridays and competes in regional competitions.

Flamingo Friends
Flamingo Friends is facilitated by Mrs. McFarlane. Activities support friendships between non-disabled students and their differently-abled peers. Flamingo Friends activities occur during the school day and are designed to support students in developing friendships and ensuring that all student are included.

Safety Patrol
Safety Patrol is led by Mrs. McGillicuddy and is open to 5th Grade Students. These student leaders are recommended by their teachers to represent the highest standards both during and after school hours. The students are trained to assist other students and enhance our school moral and safety.

Save Promise
The Students Against Violence Everywhere, SAVE Promise Club, is facilitated by Mrs. Abdul-Matthews and is a youth leadership club that empowers members to take an active role in promoting peace, kindness and safety within our school SAVE Promise meets before school on various days of the week.

STEM Club
STEM Club is facilitated by Mrs. Leaver and is open to students in 3rd and 4th Grades. STEM is the application of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students will be integrating these disciplines to program and create in a technologically based environment.

WSLE News
WSLE News Crew is led by Mrs. Juver and is open to 5th Grade Students. Crew members include anchors, camera crew and reporters. WSLE is live streamed to all classroom daily.
