    The mission of Before and After School Child Care (BASCC) is to provide students enrolled in Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) with:

    • an inclusive child care program in a safe and nurturing environment
    • a culturally enriching program that promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of each child
    • a program that meets the highest quality of childcare standards

    Our afterschool program for Middle school-age youth provides a dynamic and inclusive environment aimed at nurturing holistic development. Through a blend of social-emotional development activities, STEM projects, enrichment sessions, Teen Outreach Program curriculum, fitness exercises, nutritious snacks, and engaging field trips, children are encouraged to explore their interests, develop essential skills, and foster meaningful connections. What sets our program apart is its commitment to inclusivity, with activities conducted using both voiced English and American Sign Language (ASL), ensuring accessibility for all participants. Youth served: Middle school at-promise youth

    • Fitness exercises and games
    • STEM projects
    • Snack and/or light supper
    • Teen Outreach Program
    • Cooking

  • Summer Overview

    In middle school after-school programs, students receive daily tutoring, particularly focused on Math and Language Arts. Moreover, character development is emphasized through Firewall’s specialized curriculum, integrating social-emotional strategies, life skills, and education on drug/alcohol prevention via TOP (Teen Outreach Program).
