    Greetings Apollo Rockets:

    I am pleased to welcome you to Apollo Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year. We are proud to announce Apollo is a “B” rated school for second year in a row. The safety and security of your child is my first priority, and I want to make you aware of changes to our security procedures. The only students permitted on campus prior to 9:00 A.M. are those students participating in before care provided by Hispanic Unity or 21st Century. Those students are required to enter campus through our single point of entry in the main office. At 9:00 A.M. all other students are permitted on campus; however, they must enter through the west cafeteria doors.

    As always, any visitor to Apollo must have a valid photo I.D. to enter campus. After 9:30 A.M., the front gate will be closed. A campus monitor will be sitting by the entrance and will open the gate to allow you to enter. Upon entrance, you will be asked for your driver’s license. The campus monitor will record your license number and radio the front office. The doors to the front office will remain locked at all times. If for some reason the campus monitor at the gate needs to leave his/her post, the gate will be locked. If you need to enter campus and the monitor has locked the gate, you are to dial 754-323- 2900 and let the receptionist know that you need admittance to campus. Someone will come out to the gate and let you in. All visitors will be processed through the district’s STAR System.

    It is mandatory for all students to wear an I.D. badge. Students will receive a temporary I.D. badge and a lanyard color coded for their specific grade level. All 6th graders must use the red lanyard provided, 7th graders the white lanyard provided, and 8th graders the blue lanyard provided. Replacement lanyards may be purchased from the school store for $1.00. Students will receive a permanent I.D. badge after the school picture day on September 4th. I.D badges must be worn around the student’s neck and be visible at all times. The cost for a replacement I.D. badge is $2.00 and can be purchased in the media center.

    Apollo Middle School also follows a unified dress code. Students are permitted to wear solid navy blue, red, and white colored polo style shirts and navy blue, khaki, or jean pants, shorts, or skirts. Throughout the year various school clubs may sell different spirit shirts or shirts with the school logo. These shirts may also be worn as part of Apollo’s unified dress code. It is the expectation all Apollo Rockets will follow the unified dress code.
