Dear Meadowbrook Elementary Families & Community,
Welcome to the Meadowbrook Elementary School website. We hope you find many useful resources here and continue to periodically visit to learn about upcoming school events, programs and recognitions.
A few key updates:
- We are currently planning to return to full Face 2 Face instruction for 2021-2022
- Meet & Greet is set for August 17 (see flyer on landing page)
- The first day of school is August 18
- Open House is set for September 1 (see flyer on landing page)
- Registration remains open…call the office to register
I am very excited to continue into my third year as principal at Meadowbrook Elementary School. Our theme for 2021-2022 is “Eagle Pride” and our vision remains “Meadowbrook will provide rigorous standards-based instruction to meet the needs of the 21st Century learner in a safe and secure learning environment.” We look forward to working with our students, families, PTA, community and Partners in Education to make this a very special year for Meadowbrook Elementary School. Personal:
- My son graduated from University of Central Florida with computer science engineering degree and currently lives in Washington
- My daughter is in her second year at University of Florida studying industrial engineering
The Meadowbrook Community, Teachers, Students & Staff are proud of these accomplishments:
- “A” School in 2004, 2006, 2009 & 2010
- “B” School in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2015, 2017 & 2018
- 2020-2021 FSA Testing:
- Increased Grade 3 ELA proficiency by 1%
- 2018-2019 FSA Testing:
- Increased Grade 4 ELA proficiency by 6%
- Increased Grade 4 Math proficiency by 9%
- Maintained Grade 3 Math proficiency at 63%
- Increased Overall Math Learning Gains by 9%
A few key accomplishments from 2020-2021:
- Started school year 100% virtually for 700 students during pandemic
- Distributed 500+ laptop computers to students
- Increased teacher proficiency in Canvas, Teams and supporting tech resources
- Reopened F2F, virtual and blended learning in October during pandemic
- Held intervention camps and tutoring programs
- Completed myriad teacher and staff PD
- Held in-house field trips, field days, clubs and Grade 5 graduation
- Maintained enrollment near 700 students
- Effectively implemented COVID protocols and increased sanitization practices
- Experienced extremely few COVID cases among student and staff
- Held successful summer school for 300+ students
- Strengthened Dual Language Program in Grade K-5
