Dear Eagles Parents, Scholars, and Community Friends,

On behalf of the faculty & staff at Thurgood Marshall, we are happy to welcome you to the new school year! We look forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our scholars achieve their highest potential. As partners, we share the responsibility for your child/children's success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities as we continue our work on providing high-quality instruction in a safe and nurturing learning environment.

 At the heart of my leadership is building strong relationships with staff, scholars, and the families I serve.  I look forward to collaborating with each of you to support our sense of community here at Thurgood.  With your continued commitment and dedication, I know that we will soar to higher heights as EAGLES do.  This year’s theme is “The Road to Success is Always Under Construction ~ Building Better Together.” We will continue to work in Excellence without Excuses as a team and a family with one goal: to provide the best learning experiences for our scholars.

We ask that you guide and support your child's learning by ensuring that he/she:

• Attends school daily by being on time, in uniform, and ready to learn.
• Adhere to school-wide rules and expectations.
• Completes all assignments given by his/her Instructional Team
• Read daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills.
• Frequently monitor his/ her progress via Focus and Clever Portal.
• Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject.

If you have any questions about the rules and expectations, please contact us to discuss them with your child’s Guidance Counselor and/or Instructional Team. It is very important that you and your child are aware of our standards as they relate to appropriate behavior for a safe and productive school year.
