  • Ms. Orinthia Dias, Assistant Principal, 6th Grade

    Orinthia DiasGreetings Dolphin Family,

It is my pleasure to serve as your 6th Grade Administrator at Silver Lakes Middle School. I am also the administrator who oversees the Math and Social Studies curricula. As a proud Broward County School graduate, hailing from Boyd Anderson High School, I understand what it takes to be successful in our school system. My elementary and middle school background in classroom instruction, coaching and administration gives me the opportunity to meet the individual needs of my 6th grade students as they transition into the next phase of their learning career.
Education is the vehicle to which opportunities are open for all. At Silver Lakes Middle School we thrive on ensuring that ALL students are provided with the tools they need to be successful. Silver Lakes continues to offer a competitive curriculum for our students, including STEM classes, Drones, Technology and high school courses including Biology, Algebra, Geometry and Spanish.
As always, I am here to help in any way possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions or feedback. Looking forward to a great year!
    It's our time to shine!
    Warm Regards,
    Ms. Dias

  • Capt. Armando Alejo, Assistant Principal, 7th Grade

Capt. Armando AlejoDolphin Parents and Guardians,

I am sincerely humbled and thankful to serve as your 7th Grade Administrator here at Silver Lakes Middle.  Parents and guardians now, more than ever, need your support to ensure our students are best prepared for the challenges they will face. We are asking that you monitor your students' social, emotional, and academic standing daily! Please rest assured that our teachers and staff will continue to do the same while your growing Dolphin is here at Silver Lakes Middle. I feel confident, that if we work together, we can help fill the void left during one of the most challenging school years we've experienced in our recent history-the COVID school year. Again, we thank you in advance for the support provided.

Mr. Armando Alejo was born in Havana, Cuba, and raised in Hialeah, a suburb of the city of Miami, Florida. In 2004, his true calling was realized, and he made a career change from Accounting to Education. Following in the footsteps of his mother and two brothers, who are also administrators, he is the fourth member of his family to serve in education. Mr. Alejo began his career in Education as a Math teacher, also working as an Athletic Director and Instructional coach before being appointed as an Assistant Principal at Fort Lauderdale High school. He earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Florida International University and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic. Lastly, Mr. Alejo was selected by the Florida Department of Education for the development of FSA and EOC assessments over the course of three consecutive years.
