Principal's Message

  • Dear Parents, Guardians and Families of Bayview Elementary School,

Don't forget that Saturday night at midnight begins DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.

Hot off the Press!  Congratulations to Mrs. Murphy as she is a semifinalist for Assistant Principal of the Year.  I know that the entire Bayview community will be cheering her on as we approach the 2024 Caliber Awards (February 2, 2024).

Thank you to all of parents and families who volunteered and participated in SAC, Booster-thon, Harvest Drive, Storybook Parade and our Fall Classroom Centers.  PTA's Booster-thon is our grand fundraiser of the year and the fabulous Fort Lauderdale High School Band joined us for our kickoff event.   All of these activities just add to the stellar instruction and learning that occurs in every classroom contributing to Bayview being an A+ school.

We encourage students to participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program.  This program allows children to select books from various genres and then can check their comprehension at school.    As a way of promoting reading, we have opened up our Media Center between 7:30-7:55 A.M. each morning where students can have access to AR tests.

The first of Bayview Elementary's Soaring Scholars Academic Camps (Reading) has kicked off.  We are so proud of the students who are attending.  The next three camp days are November 9, 14 and 16.

A Spotlight on The Arts - A Note from Ms. Balezentis

Art harnesses a child’s imagination, independent thinking, and provides a gateway to their creative, natural play. I am extremely fortunate to witness the brilliance of our Bayview students every day. I have opened the door to volunteers this year and am especially grateful for their time.  Art class is only 30 minutes long and the time flies. Every extra bit of attention that the students receive is a bonus. Their faces light up with pride and joy!

Please consider joining us when your child has Art. If you are a registered volunteer, there is no need to sign up. I promise that it will be a fun, meaningful experience for all.  In closing… “Volunteerism is the voice of the people put into action. These actions shape and mold the present into a future of which we can all be proud.” ~Helen Dyer
