    Greetings Viking Families,

I am your proud eighth-grade Assistant Principal and I am excited about embarking on this journey with you. The reason I became an educator is to help students become the best versions of themselves that they can be. My philosophy is that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning and that every student can learn. It takes a village to help each student to succeed. I encourage you to continuously check Pinnacle and be an active member of our School Advisory Council (SAC) and build authentic relationships with our Lauderdale Lakes Middle staff members. Through building meaningful relationships with one another and supporting our students, they can and will succeed.

My goal is to develop students that are emotionally healthy and academically successful. I am committed to providing our students with opportunities that will equip and prepare them with the rigor to be high school-ready and college-bound.

I look forward to experiencing the 2021-2022 school year with you. Please feel free to share your thoughts or provide feedback to assist with keeping Viking Nation a school of excellence.

I am honored to be part of the Lauderdale Lakes Community. To serve where you grew up is a humbling experience. I look forward to meeting our new students and their families as we embrace the opportunity to build an engaging and memorable middle school experience.

I am also proud to say that I’m a Rutgers University graduate. My education, coupled with my love for kids, has inspired me to join the teaching profession. As I enter my 3rd year, I am fortunate to have had a variety of opportunities and support to prepare me for this one of a kind platform. After ten years of teaching, my career path led me into administration. I look forward to building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners. I am committed to ensuring that every Lauderdale Lakes Middle School student receives the very best education possible and that all students and their families realize they are an important part of our success. We will strive to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.  My belief is that every child can and will learn if given the right opportunities.  Working together as a team with our staff and parents, I am committed to helping each student achieve their very best.  Together we will continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities and a culture of academic excellence for our students.

Please know that my door is always open. Feel free to stop in, call, or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this year the best year yet! I feel truly blessed to be the instructional leader of such a special school community.

    Proud to be a Viking,

    Mr. Markis Facyson

    To my Mighty Viking Family,

I am truly elated to have become a member of the Lauderdale Lakes Middle School community and be a part of all the amazing programs we offer.

I am originally from Savannah, GA but have lived in South Florida for more than twenty years. As a child, I appreciated learning and doing mathematics so much. I played school during my summer vacations and “taught” the other children in the neighborhood who were willful participants. In spite of my summer experiences, my first career path led her to become a computer engineer at Auburn University. However, I soon realized that being an educator was what I was meant to be and obtained an ESOL degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Although teaching high school math for twelve years brought great pleasure, I realized my life purpose is to use my drive, enthusiasm, interpersonal, and leadership skills to inspire and motivate students and teachers to reach their highest potential. As a result, I attended Florida Atlantic University to pursue a specialist degree in educational leadership. As staff and students move towards their highest potential, it is my goal to help them reflect, discover, and remain passionate about their “why”.

Aside from being an educator, in my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two amazing daughters.  I look forward to working collaboratively with each of our stakeholders while we are “B”ridging the Gap to Greatness!

“Where you are is where you need to be because it’s getting you ready for where you need to go.” K. Harris

    Thank you,
    Mrs. Kristie Ford
