Our mission is to provide students with an inclusive child care program that is safe and nurturing in a comfortable environment. A culturally enriching program that promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of each child; and a program that meets the highest quality of child care standards.
The afterschool program is operated by UCO which is short for United Community Options and we were formally known as United Cerebral Palsy- UCP. We are a company that caters to the special needs population in many different ways. Our afterschool program at Bright Horizons operates on school days from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, early release days from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and some non-school days (like teacher’s planning days) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. During afterschool hours, two meals are provided, snack and supper, but parents are welcome to provide their students with snacks from home if that is preferred. UCO also hosts an 8-week summer camp at Bright Horizons from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Unfortunately, we are currently at our max capacity for summer camp students.
We are funded by the Children’s Services Council of Broward County, so parent fees are based on the household size and income. Parents would need to provide the program with proof of income and other documents upon registering their child for the program.
Our program maintains a child care license from the county that must be renewed annually and we receive site visits randomly throughout the year to be sure that we are constantly in compliance. We are also monitored for quality and safety by Before and After School Child Care, which is a chapter of the Broward County Public School Board for afterschool programs. Our staff is all CPR/First Aid certified and a few are trained to administer medication during program hours as long as the parent provides us with a current medication authorization signed by a doctor.Tekeri Bogletekeribogle@uco-ucpsfl.orgphone: 561-202-4450
