Greetings Lanier-James Education Center Community, 

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am Michelle Laurent, your new principal. I am elated to serve the Lanier-James Education Center (LJEC) Community. I appreciate the warm welcome I have received from the phenomenal LJEC community. It is my earnest desire to work closely with the community to positively impact the lives of our students. 

 As a new school year begins, I am committed to creating personalized pathways for all students. This year we are dedicated to creating an educational environment where every student's potential meets a pathway. Our goal is to personalize educational pathways to meet the varying needs of our students while enhancing students' ability to make healthy choices in all aspects of their lives through positive behavior interventions. 

Here at Lanier-James Education Center, we are thrilled to welcome back our scholars and their families to the B.R.A.V.E Knights' way. We provide a pathway to redemption for scholars by focusing on Behavior, Reflection, Academics, Value, and Excellence. Our top priority is to accelerate, enrich, and empower our scholars. To maximize our efforts, partnerships between the school and families are essential. If you are interested in being a member of our School Advisory Council and/or other family input groups, please provide your information to our front office staff. We look forward to building and sustaining strong partnerships with all stakeholders to continuously promote student learning.  

Once again, I look forward to serving the LJEC Community and I am committed to fostering positive relationships/partnerships, academic excellence, and positively impacting student behavior.
