Principal's Message

  • Prinicpal John Fossas

    Dear Hollywood Hills Elementary Families,

I am excited to begin the new school year with all our new and returning Panthers. I am honored to lead a school with such a rich educational tradition. Last academic school yeat, our faculty, staff, and students proved to be resilient through unprecedented times. Our students, with the assistance of their teachers, paraprofessionals, support staff, and administration adjusted and adapted to our new normal.

Summer school is coming to an end. I was very happy to have hosted summer school for the students in our community. As always, the summer has been a busy time at our school. Our custodial staff has worked extra hard to ensure that all classes, hallways, and common areas are pristine and sanitized. This year there will be several exciting changes.

I cannot wait to welcome all our teachers and staff on our first official workday, August 11, 2021. This year’s theme will be “Never Stop Growing: Be The Change.” I truly believe that my faculty and staff embody this theme. Our teachers will continue to undergo intensive trainings to ensure equity and the highest level of education for our students. We ask that parents communicate with our teachers throughout the process, so that we can form a common bond in your child’s educational experience. The first day for students is Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors; teachers, students and parents are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open, and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call at (754) 323-6200 or email me at to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.

    John D. Fossas, Principal
