Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.

Play Pals
Play Pals- Contact Mrs. Rocha
Play Pals is a program that encourages awareness and acceptance of people who are “differently-abled”. Helping peers promotes self-esteem and sensitivity towards others. One common characteristic of autism is the inability to develop appropriate social and play skills. This is the primary emphasis of our Play Pal program. The “Play-Pal” is paired up with a student/s in the school and taught how to play with and socialize with them. The Play Pals are trained in listening skills, responding, problem solving techniques, characteristics of autism, and how to interact and “teach” play skills to their peers with autism. We also take part in several fundraisers throughout the year for the end of the year party, field trip, and the Dan Marino WalkAbout Autism in January.
