Student Assessment and Research is a department within the Academics Division
Throughout the year, the Student Assessment arm of the department assists schools with all aspects of Broward's assessment program including preparing, administering, and reporting of state-required and district tests.
The Research arm releases briefs, reports, and evaluations that provide knowledge and support to strengthen decision making by the Superintendent, the School Board, and district and school-based administrators.
The Student Assessment and Research department reside in two locations; the Kathleen C. Wright (KCW) building and the Twin Lakes facility.

Graduation Rates, 2019-20
On January 8, 2021, the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) released Federal graduation rates for Florida and the 67 Florida school districts. The graduation rate measures the percentage of students who graduate within four years of their first enrollment in ninth grade.

Promotion Rates, 2017-18 through 2019-20
The attached research brief summarizes promotion rates in Broward County Public Schools for the 2017-18 through 2019-20 school years. Rates are provided by demographic group, grade level, and innovation zone. Third grade promotion is also broken out by reason for promotion. Individual school data are provided in the appendices.

Advanced Placement Results, 2017-18 through 2019-20
This brief presents enrollment rates and exam results for Broward County Public Schools’ (BCPS) Advanced Placement (AP) program as of September 14, 2020. The AP program provides an opportunity for high school students to experience college-level coursework and demonstrate mastery of content on national, subject-specific examinations. AP exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, and many colleges and universities will award course credit for scores of 3 or higher.

Incidents and Suspensions, 2017-18 through 2019-20
This report presents Districtwide incident and suspension data overall and by school level. Incidents are further broken out into categories that appear on the discipline matrix in order to provide information to support schools in selecting interventions and creating positive behavior plans.
